Meet the designer

Hi! I’m Zonja — the owner and designer behind the upcoming fashion brand, Zonja.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be part of the fashion industry. It all started with a little girl who loved playing dress-up. I’ve always been drawn to fabric and the wonder of creating something beautiful from scratch. Over time, that childhood dream grew into a bigger purpose: to build a business that not only celebrates creativity, but also creates job opportunities for underprivileged women.

My journey began with the basics of sewing, lovingly taught to me by my dearest gran — I’ll always be grateful for her time, patience, and encouragement. Later, I went on to study a BConSci in Consumer Science (think of it as a blend of fashion and business — highly recommended!).

My hope is that when you see and wear my garments, you feel a little part of that childhood dream come to life. That you know you’re supporting something bigger — a journey rooted in intention, upliftment, and local craftsmanship. All of my current and future collections are small-batch, thoughtfully made in South Africa, and brought to life by a group of incredibly special women.
